Did you hear Pastor Nathan's sermon today?!
Please tell me you did, and if not, make sure you get it on podcast when it is posted here because it was GOOD.
His challenge to each of us this week:
Get ALONE with God - no TV, music, coffee shop, nothing - and only take a pen and paper. Not even your Bible.
WHAT?! Don't take my Bible for alone time with God?!
But in all reality, I do need some time just to let Him speak, and while that can be through His Word, it doesn't have to be.
I don't get a lot of quiet time around here with two young boys, but I knew as soon as Pastor Nathan spoke it that I needed that kind of quiet time. And there is no better time to start this than during the fast.
When we fast for the right reasons, when our hearts are in the right place, God uses that time to soften our hearts and open our ears to Him.
Along with praying for attendance and souls saved at Easter services, I continue to pray for guidance and wisdom in raising our two boys and I know I could use clear words in this area from Him. Every day!
When was the last time you were ALONE with God? I'm making a date this week...
